Hasiru Geleyara Balaga founded in 2010 is a youth organization which works on grass roots level of wildlife conservation and awareness in Melkote and Mysore. It comprises of mainly students in and near the region.Our standpoint:
Protection and conservation of wildlife is very important not only because it provides us the resources we need to sustain our lives, but also maintains several natural cycles vital to biodiversity. With the change in climate and warming Earth, the diversity which stabilizes biosphere is threatened. So, it is the time to act, to conserve and live a sustainable life because we have only ONE home, EARTH. Lets not make it inhabitable for ourselves. What we do:
On a direct conservation level, we concentrate on doing surveys in the Melkote wild life sanctuary , help in the extinguishing forest fire, build check dams etc. We also collaborate with Janapada seva trust in Nene Bana project. We educate students in Melkote and Mysore on Environmental and several related issues as a part of our awareness programme. We are also in touch with several organizations like Janapada Seva trust, MAN, WCF, IISc, BNG etc
